AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Confirms Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, and Xander Berkely as Series Regulars

Fans of The Walking Dead will be seeing a lot more of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, and Xander Berkeley for the upcoming season. According to IGN, these four actors will be series regulars for the popular zombie series and will have roles crucial to the storyline. And the characters they portray are also important characters from Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic books.

All four actors have already appeared on the show and if you don’t remember the specific roles they play, Morgan portrays Negan, Payne plays Paul “Jesus” Monroe, Amelio portrays Dwight, and Berkeley plays Gregory.

Negan, is the vicious leader of “the saviors,” who last used “Lucille” (his bat) to bash the brains of someone from Rick’s group. Dwight, who was introduced earlier in the season, is the character with the burned face and will likely be Daryl’s rival for the upcoming season. Berkeley plays Paul “Jesus” Monroe, the guy who’s basically at fault for making Darryl lose the truckload of food as it fell into a river, earlier in the season. Later, however, we see Jesus becoming a key player in Rick’s group and even offers support to their group after the incident. Gregory is the leader of the Hiltop colony who was almost killed when Negan demanded they bring his decapitated head to “the saviors.”

The news regarding these four actors being cast as series regulars shouldn’t come as a big surprise considering that all four characters are already poised to play major parts in the future of “the survivors.” One question that does remain however, is which character was killed off by Negan? Last we saw, Negan had Rick’s group lined up on their knees as he lectured them about his group and why they do what they do. He proceeds to tell them that he has to kill one of them to set an example.

The Walking Dead showrunners reportedly filmed the death scenes for 11 different cast members so as to keep everyone on their toes.
