‘The Talk,’ ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ And ‘Sherri’ Are Set To Return Despite Ongoing WGA And SAG-AFTRA Strikes

On September 10th, it was revealed that The Drew Barrymore Show would resume production despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, other talk shows have decided to follow suit and plan to return. Specifically, the talk shows that have made plans to return are The Talk, The Jennifer Hudson Show, and Sherri.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, sources say that CBS’s The Talk is set to resume production on September 18th. The Talk is a daytime talk show hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila (American Ninja Warrior, Fight to Survive), Amanda Kloots (Fit for Christmas, Dancing with the Stars), Jerry O’Connell (Stand by Me, Play Dead), Natalie Morales (Dateline, Today), and Sheryl Underwood (Beauty Shop, The Bounce Back).

The Talk airs on weekdays, and in each episode, the hosts divulge and discuss a current, trending story. In the past, The Talk has received over fifty Emmy nominations and has won eleven Daytime Emmy Awards.

The Jennifer Hudson Show, as The Hollywood Reporter notes, also has plans to return for their second season on September 18th. Hosted by Jennifer Hudson (The Voice, American Idol), The Jennifer Hudson Show is produced by JHUD Productions and Warner Bros. Unscripted Television.

The official website for the daytime talk show, jenniferhudsonshow.com, states, “Premiering September 18, season 2 is filled with exciting, unexpected moments around every corner for viewers at home, fans on the street, and in-studio audiences alike!”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sherri will also be going forward with its second season. Hosted by Sherri Shepherd (The View, Dish Nation), Sherri brings a sense of comedy to current happenings in pop culture. Unlike The Talk and The Jennifer Hudson Show, Sherri Shepherd’s talk show does not use writers who are a part of the Writers Guild of America.

Fans of these daytime talk shows can look forward to their return.
