‘The Sopranos’ Michael Imperioli Cast In Season Two of ‘The White Lotus’

HBO’s The White Lotus has cast its lead for the satirical dark comedy’s second season. According to Deadline, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos, Detroit 1-8-7) is attached to star in the second installment of Mike White’s (School of Rock, Enlightened) breakout hit anthology series.

Deadline reports Imperioli will play Dominic Di Grasso, a guest of another White Lotus resort traveling with his father and adult son. While season one explored the distorted lives of guests at a White Lotus property in Hawaii, this second entry is centered in a different locale.

White directed, wrote and executive produced The White Lotus’ initial season which boasted an all-star cast including Murray Bartlett (August, Looking), Jennifer Coolidge (Single All the Way, Promising Young Woman), Steve Zhan (Joy Ride, Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Jake Lacy (Christmas Inheritance, Love the Coopers), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure, Wonder Woman 1984), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, The Voyeurs), Alexandra Daddario (Baywatch, San Andreas), Brittany O’Grady (Star, Little Voice), Molly Shannon (Hannibal, Superstar), and Connie Britton (9-1-1, Nashville). The series explored the exploits of privilege and the ugliness it masks with the resort as a backdrop. Things begin to unravel when someone at the exclusive resort is murdered.

According to Deadline, Imperioli is the lone cast announcement as of now. However, the breakout star of the series, Coolidge, has been rumored to return playing a brand new character. White will again direct and write the series. He is joined by executive producers David Bernad (Bad Trip, Magic Magic) and Nick Hall (Manic Cop, We Are Who We Are).

Imperioli currently has two other TV projects in the works. Deadline confirms he is developing a series loosely based on his own life experiences as a Buddhist for HBO. He is joined by writer Alec Berg (Barry, The Dictator) and Amy Solomon (Silicon Valley) of Berg’s production company. And at Hulu, he is starring in the series, The Fool, by comedian Chris Estrada.
