According to Comicbook, the Roku Channel has recently revealed an official teaser trailer for their The Spiderwick Chronicles series. The series that Disney+ originally scrapped in August of 2023 is now coming closer to premiering after being picked up by Roku. The first season of the series will have eight episodes in total and will be free to watch on the service. The Spiderwick Chronicles will premiere on the Roku Channel on April 19th.

According to Comicbook, the official description for the series is as follows: “Helen and her children, 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory move to their ancestral home, Spiderwick. Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures are real! The only one to believe him is his great-aunt Lucinda who implores Jared to find the pages of her father’s field guide to magical creatures and protect them from the murderous Ogre, Mulgarath.”
Created and executive produced by Aron Eli Coleite (Locke & Key) alongside Kat Coiro (Girls5eva). Other producers for the series include Tony DiTerlizzi (Charlotte’s Web), Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (The Maze Runner), Jeremy Bell (Abduction), D.J. Goldberg (Whiteout), Julie Kane-Ritsch (Dead Space: Downfall), and Grace Gilroy (Alien vs. Predator).
The series cast will include Christian Slater (Archer) as Mulgarath, Hunter Dillon (Holly Hobbie) as Hatcher, Alyvia Alyn Lind (Chucky) as Calliope, Jack Dylan Grazer (Luca) as Thimbletack, Momona Tamada (Avatar: The Last Airbender) as Emiko, Joy Bryant (Rosewood) as Helen Grace, Patty Gyggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) as Stacy Varnow, Dylan Bruce (Orphan Black) as Tanner Kent, Teagan Vincze (A Cowboy Christmas) as Snooty Saleswoman, Noah Cottrell (Boys of Summer) as Simon, Lyon Daniels (We Can Be Heroes) as Jared, Mychala Lee (The Greatest Inheritance) as Mallory, and many others.
