‘The Most Dangerous Animal of All’ Now Available on Hulu

All four episodes of the show have been made accessible on Hulu to explore the story of a man whose father might be the Zodiac Killer. Gary. L. Stewart was abandoned on a stairwell and upon meeting his biological mother, he decided to track down the whereabouts of that missing figure only to discover that he strangely connected to the Californian murderer. His investigations lead to the writing of The Most Dangerous Animal of All and the memoir became a 2014 New-York Times best-seller.

Ran by executive producer Ross M. Dinerstein (The Innocent Man) and famous director Kief Davidson (Bending the Arc), the show reacts what happened in the past, such as Stewart looking for his father’s initials in the Zodiac’s cyphers or him looking through the family library. It also includes testimonies from the police forces that covered the  case in the 1970s, his mother or even journalist Susan Mustafa who co-wrote his memoir. However, if the documentary series is a painful portrayal of a broken family and the honest depiction of an obsessive search for answers, the show runners are well aware of the inconsistencies found in Stewart’s allegations. But to Dinerstein, it wasn’t what was important in the creation of the show.

“I saw a really kind man and a really interesting, conflicted man who had everything in the world, but had this primal wound that he was not able to heal,” he said to Vulture, “He didn’t have closure. And I thought this show could be his closure. It could be almost like a therapeutic experience. I found him to be very genuine”

The series has been released on Hulu on March 7 and is also available on FX.
