ABC’s ‘Station 19’ Renewed for Fourth Season

ABC’s drama Station 19 has been renewed for a fourth season for the 2020-21 television season, according to Deadline. The series is one of the many spin-offs from a successful ongoing ABC hospital drama in Grey’s Anatomy. Since the announcement and debut of Station 19, high ratings have persisted as well as fan support for the program. The series is under the control of accomplished executive producers such as Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy), Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal), Betsy Beers (For the People and How to Get Away with Murder), and Paris Barclay (NYPD Blue and ER). The group has collaborated on various series such as Grey’s and Scandal, while also establishing themselves as capable of creating and running successful network dramas.

Station 19 follows in the same vein as its predecessor Grey’s, being set in Seattle and following a group of individuals working within public service occupations. The spin-off centers on Station 19 of The Seattle Fire Department and the wide range of differently ranked firefighters. Station 19’s cast includes the likes of Jaina Lee Ortiz (Rosewood) as Lieutenant Andrea “Andy” Herrera, Jason George (Mistresses) as firefighter Ben Warren, Grey Damon (Friday Night Lights) as Lieutenant Jack Gibson, Barrett Doss (Iron Fist) as firefighter Vic Hughes, as well as many other actors. The series focuses on these firefighters as they encounter the daily issues that plague the Seattle landscape.

ABC announced Station 19’s fourth season renewal, yet there is no further information regarding its premiere date except that it will be a part of next year’s television season. Regardless, the series is currently in the midst of its third season run, airing Thursdays on ABC at 8 PM/ET. In the meantime, television audiences can enjoy the hour-long drama via ABC.com with their cable subscription.
