‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Sets Fourth Season Release Date

Amazon Prime Video’s Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has set its fourth season’s release date at February 18, more than two years after its last season’s release, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe upcoming season will premiere in February, with two new episodes debuting each week for four weeks.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, set in the 1950s, follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel – a devoted mother and wife. She soon discovers a talent and passion in stand-up comedy, which results in an unconventional journey that takes her from her comfortable life on the Upper West Side through clubs and restaurants of Greenwich Village to survive in the comedy industry. The upcoming fourth season will be set in 1960 and follows the events of the third season’s conclusion, when Midge, played by Rachel Brosnahan (The Courier), lost the opportunity to open for pop star Shy Baldwin, played by LeRoy McClain (The Happy Sad).

“We fucked her up pretty good at the end of the season. We’ve knocked her back a few times on the show,” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls) said, via The Hollywood Reporter. “But that’s what show business is. It’s one step forward, two steps back – that’s the life of a comic.”

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was previously delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which shutdown production on several of the industry’s film and TV shows. However, the show is now back on track and will return on February 18, featuring guest stars Kelly Bishop (Gilmore Girls) and Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls).
