Amazon Prime Video’s The Legend of Vox Machina is now set to premiere on Jan. 28, according to Entertainment Weekly. The animated series was originally scheduled to premiere in February. Amazon Prime also shared a clip of the upcoming animation earlier.
This upcoming series is inspired by and based on Dungeons & Dragons. The Legend of Vox Machina began as a web series called Critical Role, wherein a bunch of voice actors got together and played Dungeons & Dragons, personalizing their characters and acting out fantastical adventures. The popularity of the web series raised quickly that it extended to a Livestream show that doubled as a podcast. Eventually, a campaign succeeded in turning the web series into an animated show.
From the first looks we got, the animated series will feature stories of characters including Sylas Briarwood, Pike Trickfoot, and more. The show will follow the heroes as they work together to overcome the challenges ahead. Most of the story takes place on the continent of Tal’Dorei in locations such as the metropolis of Emon and the city-state of Whitestone.
