The Kids of ‘Stranger Things’ Will Couple Up for Season 3

Stranger Things will cross further into the world of romance for Season 3 with Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), each pairing off into couples, producer Shawn Levy said at PaleyFest Sunday night, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Mike and Eleven … are going strong, so that’s a relationship that continues, and same with Mad Max and Lucas. But again, they’re like 13- or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at that stage of life? It can never be simple and stable relationships, and there’s fun to that instability,” Levy said as per THR.

According to THR, the statements marked the first time Brown learned of the news, since the actors have yet to receive their Season 3 scripts.

Levy also revealed other snippets about the upcoming season of the nostalgic 1980s supernatural Netflix series, including that Season 3 will take place in the summer of 1985 – a year after Season 2’s events.

Further, it seems Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), will get more screen time when Stranger Things returns.

“We’ll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in Season 3, and I’ll just say we won’t be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don’t want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve,” Levy said.

In the meantime, get your DeLorean ready.  Viewers can expect the ‘80s throwbacks to continue next season, with Back to the Future references being at play.

Stranger Things Season 3 will begin production in April, Levy said.

Last week, it was revealed that McLaughlin, Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henerson) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) would receive massive pay raises for Season 3. Reports said the actors will receive $250,000 per episode – up from $20,000 an episode for Seasons 1 and 2.
