Comedy Central has announced a second season renewal for The Jim Jefferies Show. The network announced it today (Monday) at the TCA winter press tour. The show is ranked number one freshman series this year for Comedy Central among viewers eighteen to fourty-nine. The late-night show will return with a twenty episode season. This show is also currently nominated for Writers Guild Award in the Comedy/Variety talk series category.
Jim Jefferies is the host of the comedy show. He is an Australian comedian that gives his honest opinion on politics and culture. During his weekly show, he talks about the biggest stories of the week. He does this from both behind his desk and travels throughout the world. By going to different locations, he shows hypocrisy from around the globe. Jefferies covers controversial topics such as: gun control, big-game hunting, the national anthem protests, and sexual harassment. He does different types of interviews like: international field pieces and man-on-the-ground investigations. It is all done and presented in a comedic way.
Kent Alterman, president of Comedy Central, said, “You’d think I’d stop being surprised at how smart and funny Jim is about everything. I’m just glad we’re still giving visas to people from whatever shithole country he comes from.”
Jefferies also said, “I’m very happy that The Jim Jefferies Show will be coming back for a second season. We have great things planned for this season including field pieces in Europe and Israel that I’m recording right now. I have missed being on air during the hiatus but luckily the President hasn’t said or done anything stupid worth talking about.”
Jefferies, Scott Zabielski, Jason Reich and Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Alex Murray and Tim Sarkes are executive producers of the show. Comedy Central’s executives that are in charge of the production of the show are: Adam Londy and Daniel Wolfberg.
