Yesterday morning, Marsh McCall, 52, a well known comedy writer for TV and executive producer on Fuller House passed away suddenly. According to Deadline, the TV veteran died due to natural causes in Studio City, California. Cast and crew are mourning his loss by taking to social media.
According to Looper, McCall started working in entertainment as a writer for Late Night with Conan O’Brien back in 1995. Soon after, he found success working on the series Just Shoot Me alongside creator Steve Levitan, who also paid his respects on Twitter. The series spanned seven seasons from 1997 to 2003.
Following the success of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, McCall teamed up with Nia Vardalos to create the TV series My Big Fat Greek Life in 2003. He also worked on I’m With Her, The Naked Truth, Jennifer Falls, Men at Work and wrote for the recently canceled ABC comedy show Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen, which mxdwn TV recently reported on.
McCall’s most recent work was that of executive producer on Fuller House, the 2016 reboot based on 90’s TGIF classic Full House. Creator Jeff Franklin issued a statement following the news, saying, “Our Fuller House family is heartbroken over the sudden passing of our co-executive producer Marsh McCall. He was our brightest shining star, always smiling, and always there with the perfect joke. Beyond his immense talent, he was the happiest comedy writer we’ve seen, and his love of life was contagious. We will miss him dearly, and our hearts go out to his beautiful family and a universe of friends who adored him,” Variety reports.
McCall leaves behind a daughter Stella, with his wife Jasa.
