The First Trailer for Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ Has Been Released

Marvel is no stranger to the world of television and soon a new series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be hitting the small screen on ABC. The first trailer for Inhumans was released on Thursday, June 29.

The series follows the Inhuman Royal Family after a military overthrow forces them to escape to Hawaii in order for them to protect themselves, as well as the rest of the world. The 2-minute long trailer shows the powerful family as they make their way back to Earth due to the scheming of Maximus, played by Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon. The royal family is under the direction of Black Bolt, played by Conviction‘s Anson Mount, and Medusa, played by Chicago Fire‘s Serina Swan. Check out the full trailer below.

According to The Verge, the Inhumans are a group of individuals with superpowers that have resided in the city of Attilan, which is located on the moon. After a toxic substance called Terrigen Mists is created during an ancient war, the majority of the royal family members develop special powers. Some of these newfound powers include Black Bolt’s ability to cause massive destructions with a whisper, Medusa’s talent of being able to control her hair with her mind, and Gorgon’s, played by Extant‘s Eme Ikwuakor, power that creates seismic waves with the force of his hooves.

The world of Inhumans was introduced in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD during the second season of the ABC series.  Since the introduction in 2015, the Inhumans characters have become an important part of the series. While it is unlikely that an Agents of SHIELDS and Inhumans crossover will take place during the latter show’s first eight-episode season, it’s likely that the two show’s will later connect if they are both picked up for another season.

The Hollywood Reporter quoted Ben Sherwood, the president of Disney Media Networks, in a statement last November following the announcement of the series.“This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, innovative approach to launching great TV content for a worldwide audience,” he said. “It highlights Disney|ABC’s unrelenting commitment to finding new and creative ways to showcasing our very best programming and increasing global engagement and reach.”

The series will also star Dance Academy‘s Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Lost‘s Ken Leung as Karnak, Beyond the Break‘s Sonya Balmores as Auran, Empire‘s Mike Moh as Triton, and Outlaw‘s Ellen Woglom as a yet to be named character. The premiere episode of Inhumans will debut in IMAX theaters on September 1. The series will have its television premiere on September 29 on ABC.
