The CW Extends ‘All American’ Season Six

According to Deadline, The CW’s All American has received an extension in its episode count. The sixth season of the football drama is reportedly receiving an additional two episodes, taking its total to fifteen. This is a unique instance in the current strike-affected broadcast season.

The first five seasons of All American included 16–20 episodes each.  According to Deadline, Given season five wrapped up nearly a year ago, additional episodes provide a better-developed plot and can lead to a more complete resolution for the season.

Deadline claims that it would also let viewers stay in the present day longer, since the characters in All American, including the show’s protagonist Spencer James, played by Daniel Ezra, (A Discovery of Witches, Tex Brown) and Michael Evans Behling’s Jordan Baker, (Grey’s Anatomy, The Manny) are getting ready to make significant life changes in the NFL draft.

The artistic journey that Spencer has over the previous six seasons would be concluded, according to Deadline. The cast of All American also includes Bre-Z (Empire, The New Edition Story), Greta Onieogou (Fever Pitch, Heroes Reborn: Dark Matters), Samantha Logan (13 Reasons Why, Cruel Intentions), Cody Christian (Teen Wolf, Pretty Little Liars), Karimah Westbrook (Suburbicon, American Violet), Monét Mazur (40 Days and 40 Nights, Mystery Men), and Chelsea Tavares (Unfabulous, The Last of Us: Part IIin addition to Ezra and Behling. Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll (Found, Rosewood), Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Love, Simon), Sarah Schechter (Free Guy, Red, White & Royal Blue), John A. Norris (Deception, Beauty and the Beast), Jameal Turner (Being Maty Jane, Breakout Kings), Mike Herro (One Tree Hill, American Woman), and David Strauss (Reign, Hindsight) serve as executive producers of the series. It is produced by Warner Bros. TV and CBS Studios in collaboration with Berlanti Productions.
