The Chief Creative Officer of Marvel: Joe Queseda Knocks Out the ‘Iron Fist’ Rumors

Many Marvel fans have been looking forward to seeing all four story lines of the crime fighting superhero team The Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist) unfold. Some Marvel fans have been concerned with the recent rumors circulating about “Iron Fist” not having its own TV series like the recently premiered “Jessica Jones.” And of course “Daredevil” which is one of Netflix’s most successful original series to date.

In a recent interview with IGN, the Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, Joe Queseda was informed by a reporter that there were “rumors that it (Iron Fist) might go to a TV movie.” Rather than having its own original TV series on Netflix like “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones.” Queseda quickly shut down those rumors by cleverly stating “Where did you read these rumors? Oh, but they were on the internet so they must be true.”

That statement alone by Queseda should ease the minds of Marvel fans who were worried that “Iron Fist” would be turned into a shorter TV movie rather than having a full length television series. Additionally, after being asked about his current involvement with “Iron Fist”, Queseda said “I’m pretty involved, ‘Iron Fist’ is being worked on, that’s all I can say.”

There you have it from the CCO of Marvel himself. “Iron Fist” is most definitely in the works. But keep in mind that “Luke Cage” will most likely be the next Defender to have an original series. According to IMDb, “Luke Cage” is set to premiere sometime in 2016.

Fans of “Iron Fist” may have to sit tight for a while before they get to witness “Iron Fist” in action. For now, you can watch Iron Fist’s destined superhero teammates Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in action in Netflix’s newly released original series “Jessica Jones.”
