The Cast of ‘Scorpion’ Preview Season Three Romances at Comic Con

As a way to promote the upcoming third season of CBS’ hit show Scorpion, once again, the cast took part in a panel at the 2016 Comic Con. Before the panel started, some of the cast members sat down with Entertainment Weekly’s Kyle Anderson to give a brief description about what fans can expect the third season to look like.

Fans of the show may remember from the season finale that Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) proposed to Happy (Jaydn Wong), only to find out that she’s already married. “There’s going to be an uphill climb to reclaim his love and untangle this mess,” Thomas said. “The writers have done a great job of setting up these huge challenges for these challenged characters in the first place. Even if this challenge wasn’t there, these people wouldn’t know how to be in love. So it’s going to be really exciting.”

Meanwhile, Katharine McPhee revealed she’s jealous of Wong’s character just because Happy gets to kick down doors and Paige doesn’t, leading to Kaye saying there should be an episode of the show this coming season where everyone in the cast gets to kick doors in.

McPhee also previewed that there’s going to be “smooches” happening on the show this season, giving fans hope that Paige and Walter (Elyes Gabel) could finally becoming a couple on-screen as McPhee and Gabel are dating in real life.

As for the full cast panel, Entertainment Weekly also has the scoop on the first few episodes of the new season, complete with an update on the fan favorite couples.

The first episode of the season will take place a few hours after the events of the season two finale, executive producer Nicholas Wootton said. “We’re going to see what happens when Walter goes to Tahoe,” Wootton said.

Fans will remember that Paige was going to Tahoe with her new love interest, Tim, who’s portrayed by Scott Porter. As for how Paige is going to feel about Walter’s revelation, McPhee said “Her feelings are always there, but she’s had to put them aside because she’s accepted that Walter isn’t capable of loving her in the way she deserves and the way she wants him to. Her feelings have become dormant. They’re always there, but she has a child and needs to move on with her life.”

McPhee also said that the second episode of the season is one of the cast’s favorite episodes.

As for the other characters, Wong said she was excited to learn that Happy was married to someone Wootton said everyone has been surprised when they find out who she’s actually married to.

Wootton also said the team travels to a lot of different locations this year, including Ireland, Bulgaria and there’s also the potential for them to go to Australia.

It seems that love may be in the air for another cast member as Robert Patrick’s character, Cabe, may get a love interest as well.

But while some characters are getting some help in the romance department, Ari Stidham said the scenes between him and Gabel when Megan was dying “felt like magic” and Wootton said that Sylvester is still pining for Megan in the new season.

Scorpion returns to CBS on Monday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. for a two-hour long episode. The show will move to its new timeslot on Oct. 10, when the show airs at 10 p.m.
