According to Deadline, Erin Moriarty (Red Widow), star of The Boys, has returned to Instagram after a recent controversy with a former Fox News anchor named Megyn Kelly (The Megyn Kelly Show). Kelly accused Moriarty of plastic surgery, using her as an example of having mental illness. After the allegations, Moriarty left Instagram, and is just now returning with a new statement thanking her fans.
Deadline claimed that Moriarty said on her Instagram story, “Dropping in to say 1) I love you all 2) v grateful to be holding my little dude again and 3) to [those] that came forward to talk to me, were vulnerable enough to share: you are f***ing amazing, Stories that should be heard FAR more than mine, I do believe we have a long way to go. In the meantime: talk to me. I wanna hear. Safe zones, empathy and/or sympathy, and catharsis: a medicinal combo. Trust me.”
The statements made by Kelly came from her show which was shared on YouTube, Deadline said. Moriarty used Instagram as a way to show her side, saying, “Megyn used a photo taken ‘a year ago’ according to her, that had in actuality been taken about a decade ago before I was of LEGAL DRINKING AGE (I’m about to turn 30) as an example (maybe do some research that would take 30 seconds).”
After the allegations, Moriarty chose to step away from Instagram, however, she made a note that she wanted to keep her Instagram up so that people could see her statement, said Deadline.
Deadline cited that Moriarty said this as she stepped away from Instagram, “There’s no excuse for these horrific allegations, the verbal abuse that I have had to delete, and genuinely false information that is being used to perpetuate a message that is exhibitionist feminism. You don’t have to believe me when I saw that these videos are absolutely false. But the way that this has been spoken about, the way that I have been spoken to, I will not accept.”
