Deadline reported that Taylor Sheridan is back with another character-driven drama, and this time he’s keeping things a little more intimate. His latest series, The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer (Scarface, Dangerous Liaisons) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Escape From New York), is officially set to premiere March 14 on Paramount+. The first season of the family drama will consist of six episodes, which will be Sheridan’s smallest starting run to date. The Madison comes with a built-in safety net, unlike most of his shows, which usually last eight or ten episodes.

According to Deadline, season two has already concluded, indicating Paramount+’s high level of early confidence. Although it might be positioned as a continuation of season one, the second season is anticipated to serve as a full follow-up season.

As reported by Deadline, The Madison, which is set between the Madison River valley in Montana and New York City, is regarded as Sheridan’s most intimate endeavor to date. The narrative, which combines expansive landscapes with intensely moving storytelling, focuses on the Clyburn family as they deal with love, grief, and broken relationships.
According to Deadline, Pfeiffer and Russell lead a stacked ensemble that includes Beau Garrett (Firefly Lane, Tron: Legacy), Patrick J. Adams (Suits, Sneaky Pete), Matthew Fox (Lost, Party of Five), Kevin Zegers (Fear the Walking Dead, Rebel), Ben Schnetzer (Pride, The Book Thief), Elle Chapman (The Wilds, Scandal), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes, My Best Friend’s Exorcism), Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Alaina Pollack.

Per Deadline, the series is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, with Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Hell or High Water) executive producing alongside David C. Glasser (Yellowstone, Tulsa King), John Linson (Sons of Anarchy, Nashville), Art Linson (Heat, Into the Wild), and others. Pfeiffer and Russell (The Hateful Eight, Escape From New York) also serve as executive producers.

As previously revealed by Deadline, season two began filming last fall at a newly launched 450,000-square-foot production campus in Fort Worth, Texas, backed by Sheridan, Glasser, Paramount and the Perot family. With a second season already completed before the first even premieres, The Madison is shaping up to be a long-term player in Sheridan’s growing Paramount+ universe.
