Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Casts Taylor Handley and Derek Webster on Paramount+

The upcoming Paramount+ original series Mayor of Kingstown has announced two new additions to its cast in actors Derek Webster (9-1-1: Lone Star, In the Dark) and Taylor Handley (Vegas), according to Deadline. The series hails from creator Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water) and Hugh Dillon (Yellowstone) and will be executive produced by the duo alongside Antoine Fuqua (Training Day). The series is a part of the new series orders for the upcoming television season for Paramount+, the newly launched streaming service that replaced CBS All Access.

Mayor of Kingstown will center on the tales of the McLusky’s who live in the titular town in Michigan as the family members operate as power brokers within the region. Kingstown is a hotbed for individuals turning business out of the American prison system and the series will center on the family members attempting to establish proper order within the town. The series’ leads include Jeremy Renner (Avengers: Endgame, Wind River) as the mayor Mike McClusky and Dianne Wiest (Bullets over Broadway, Parenthood). This will act as Renner’s second collaboration with Sheridan following the success in Sheridan’s 2017 film Wind River. Handley will join the series as police officer Kyle McClusky, the youngest brother to Renner’s Mike. Webster will portray another police officer in the town named Stevie.

Sheridan is mostly known for his feature film work with his writing and directing credits including 2015’s Sicario, 2016’s Hell or High Water, and 2017’s Wind River. However, Sheridan possesses some television experience with his co-creator credit for Paramount’s Yellowstone in addition to acting as Deputy David Hale on FX’s Sons of Anarchy for the first three seasons.

Currently, it is unknown when Mayor of Kingstown will begin production and premiere on the streaming service.
