According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tamera Mowry-Housley is set to guest star in an ABC comedy reboot of Scrubs. The second season of the reboot will air on September 30 and  Mowry-Housley is set to play the role of  Dr. Steffie, a pediatrician at the hospital who tries to convince Tosh to choose peds as her specialty. Mowry-Housley will appear in the second of two episodes on Scrubs‘ premiere night next week.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the Scrubs series returned with a reboot of the franchise over 16 years after the original series. The series follows the daily lives, friendships, and struggles of doctors and staff at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital. The series stars Zach Braff (Chiekn Little, Garden State), Donald Faison (The Exes, Next Day Air) and Sarah Chalke (The Wrong Missy, Rick and Morty) , reprising their roles as series regulars and Judy Reyes (High Potential, Claws), John C. McGinley (Stan Against Evil, Nothing to Lose), Neil Flynn (Rookie of the Year, The Middle), Christa Miller (Clone High, The Drew Carey Show) and Robert Maschio (A Holiday Heist, Lethal Seduction) returning in guest roles. The first season of the reboot finished among the top 25 network series of 2025-26 in total viewers and the top five in the adults 18-49 demographic. 

 The Hollywood Reporter reports Aseem Batra (The Cleveland Show, Animal Practice) is the showrunner on the series and executive produces with series creator Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Spin City), Jeff Ingold (Shrinking, Rooster) and Liza Katzer (Head of the Class, Life Sentence) of Lawrence’s Doozer Productions, Braff, Chalke, Faison, Mike Royce (One Day at a Time, Men of a Certain Age), Mathew Harawitz (I Feel Bad, Bad Teacher), Randall Keenan Winston (Cougar Town, Grace and Frankie) and Michael Spiller (The Mindy Project, So Help Me Todd).

Mowry-Housley is known for the hit series Sister, Sister on ABC with her sister in the 1990s. Over the last few years, she has starred in many Hallmark movies and also in shows such as Haunted Harmony Mysteries , according to  The Hollywood Reporter.
