The network has ordered 10 episodes of the police series project.
TBS announced that they have green lighted the police comedy produced by Steve Carell titled Angie Tribeca (working title). Carell and his wife, Nancy, will write and executive produce the single-camera satirical show, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The project focuses on an eccentric, but brilliant group of LAPD detectives who reveal too much information and who refuse to refuse until justice has been served…sort of. Rashida Jones will play Angie Tribeca, a lone woman capable, committed and strong, but who’s not happy when her boss makes her work with a partner.
The pilot episode hails from Carousel Television banner is also exec. produced by Campbell Smith and Thom Hinkle. The 1- episode show that is slated to premiere in 2015 co-stars Jere Burns, Deon Cole and Andree Vermeulen with Alfred Molina, Lisa Kudrow, Gary Cole, Nancy Carell, Macarthur and Matthew Glave making appearances in the pilot.
