The premium cable network has recently procured a brand-new series called Dublin Murders, an eight-episode drama based on Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad Novels. Due to air on Starz in 2019, the series was first adapted into French Series by Sarah Phelps (The ABC Murders) with that of In the Woods and The Likeness, and now, Dublin Murders. The series will star Killian Scott (CB Strike) and Sarah Greene (Penny Dreadful) as two Dublin detectives whose close working relationship is placed under-pressure when a murder case brings with it pieces of their pasts that were better left forgotten.
Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht discussed the series with HollywoodReporter.com, stating: “This series is brilliantly adapted by Sarah Phelps, who in blending the first two novels has constructed a complex and enigmatic world for this suspense-filled drama. We look forward to bringing viewers along on this intense ride.”
Phelps is set to executive produce the series with the lead director being Saul Dibb. Kate Harwood, Noemi Spanos. Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen, Ed Guiney, Elizabeth Kilgarriff, John Hayes, and Rebecca Gatward are also set to direct. The cast also includes Moe Dunford, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Leah McNamara, Ian Kenny, Eugene O’Hare, Conleth Hill, Jonny Holden, and Peter McDonald. The new series will air in 2019, and be distributed by Fremantle, with Euston Films, Veritas Entertainment Group, and Element Pictures producing the crime-drama series.
