Starz ‘American Gods’ Season 2 Trailer Brings Back the Old Gods

The old gods are back in town in a new trailer for the Starz hit series American Gods. The new season is just around the corner, and the premium cabler is going full throttle in its marketing machine. In addition to the new trailer and some new posters, the network has been doling out snippets from new episodes in what is expected to be a closely watched series due to the loss of co-showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green.

From the look of things, season 2 of American Gods will feature a bulk of depictions from the various gods of Neil Gailman’s 2007 graphic novel, some of whom will be revealed through flashbacks. Case in point being the glimpses of Pablo Schreiber’s Mad Sweeney brandishing a spear in full war paint, but the scene could be insinuating at the battle to come, but it’s more likely a look back at Sweeney’s past and his penchant for violence. In addition, the new trailer features the unwavering power of all the other gods to be found in the massive ensemble.

Titled ‘Meet Your Gods,’ the new trailer reminds us of what’s to come in season 2, as the war between Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Mr. World (Crispin Glover) heats up, as it is reacquainting the audience with characters like Bilquis (Yetide Badaki), Mr. Ibis (Demore Barnes), Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones), and Laura Moon (Emily Browning). American Gods season 2 premieres Sunday, March 10 @8pm on Starz. Check out the trailer below:
