‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ And Marvel’s ‘Loki’ Get Release Dates on Disney+

Disney+ revealed premiere dates for several upcoming new and returning series at Wednesday’s Television Critics Association press conference. According to Deadline, Star Wars and Marvel fans can mark their calendars for the animated show Star Wars: The Bad Batch and live-action caper, Loki.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch will debut on Disney+ on May 4, via Deadline. This date is significant with fans of the franchise as it is acknowledged as Star Wars Day, or “May the 4th Be With You.” The new series takes place following the events of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which wrapped its final seventh season last year. The show follows a group of abnormal and defective clones as they embark on their own journey throughout the galaxy. Each character possesses a specific skill that makes the group a formidable squad. The voice cast includes The Mandalorian’s Ming Na-Wen (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Mulan) and Dee Bradley Baker (Phenis and Ferb, American Dad). Check out the trailer below:

Marvel Studios’ Loki will arrive on June 11, month later than its original projected date, according to Deadline. It will be the third original series from Marvel on the streaming service. Starring Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager, Thor) as the God of Mischief, Loki follows the adopted Asgardian’s time-jumping escapades following the events of Avengers: Endgame. The show boasts a cast that includes Owen Wilson (Marley & Me, Midnight in Paris), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Morning Show, Fast Color), Sophia Di Martino (Flowers, Yesterday), Wunmi Mosaku (His House, Lovecraft Country), and Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker). Watch the first teaser of Loki below:

According to Deadline, Kate Herron (Smear, Sex Education) will direct the series with Michael Waldron (Heels, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) on board as showrunner and head writer. Loki will follow the March 19 premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie (She Hate Me, The Banker) and Sebastian Stan (I, Tonya, The Last Full Measure). Viewers are currently obsessed with the Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Paul Bettany (A Knight’s Tale, Legion) fronted series, WandaVision, which will close its nine-episode run on March 5.

In addition to these titles, Disney+ announced premiere dates for other series including season two of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and The Mysterious Benedict Society
