Regé-Jean Page (Roots), break out of star of the Netflix original series Bridgerton, will host Saturday Night Live this upcoming week on February 20, via Indiewire. He will be hosting alongside musical guest rapper Bad Bunny.
Bridgerton fans can rejoice as they await the highly anticipated season two by getting another dose of Page as he hosts the prestigious live show for the first time. Executive produced by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy), Bridgerton premiered December 25 on Netflix with rave reviews from critics and fans alike. And while the whole cast was commended, Page was singled out as the series break out star.

Taking place during the Victorian era in London, Page portrays the Duke of Hastings Simone Basset as he falls in love with Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest in a family of eight children. Played by Phoebe Dyvnevor (Younger), their romantic escapades took center stage during the first season’s run, with future seasons planning to focus on the other Bridgerton children as they go through the trials and tribulations of love.
After the first season debuted, fans even began to discuss that Page would be perfect as the next James Bond. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon (Saturday Night Live) on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Page addressed the rumors, saying: ““I think there might be an element of like cultural translation to be done here. Like if you’re a Brit and you do something of any kind of renowned that people regard well, then people start saying the ‘B’ word. It’s like a merit badge, you get the ‘B’ word merit badge, but I don’t think it’s much more than that. I’m very, very glad to have the badge. I’m glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge…”
Along with the Bond buzz, Page also just received a SAG Award nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series this past month. Saturday Night Live will air this Saturday on NBC at 11:30 p.m E.T.
