Sprout acquired the rights to animated series, Earth to Luna!, from TV PinGuim.
The series centers on a young girl who is crazy about science. Luna, a six-year-old girl, is excited to explore the giant world that she views as her laboratory and wants to experience everything with boundless energy and enthusiasm. Her younger brother Jupiter and their pet ferret Clive accompany her. She must answer the question, “Why is this happening?” to feed her amazing curiosity and will do anything to find the answers.
“Sprout is committed to creating and acquiring the best content for preschoolers and their families,” said Andrew Beecham, Senior Vice President of Programming for Sprout. “Each episode of Earth to Luna! explores the impact that science has on our world, and Luna, in her curious way, pursues answers to scientific questions that viewers will relate to and enjoy.”
TV PinGuim’s Creative Director, Celia Catunda added, “We’re so excited that Luna is taking her passion for science and whimsical songs about the world to the U.S. Sprout is renowned for its high quality, distinctive preschool shows and we’re delighted that Earth To Luna! is going to air alongside the other well-known favorites in their schedule.”
Earth to Luna! will premiere in the U.S. on Sprout August 16, 2014.
