‘South Park’ Set To Release Episode Surrounding COVID-19 Pandemic

Comedy Central has announced that the animated comedy South Park will release an hour-long special upon its return to TV, entitled “The Pandemic Special” which will center around the coronavirus pandemic, according to VarietyIn the episode, the kids will be returning back to school but struggle to adjust to the “new normal” that the COVID-19 outbreak has brought them. It will air on September 30 at 8pm ET.

South Park creators Trey Parker (Baseketball) and Matt Stone (Baseketball), who have written and directed every episode of the series since its initial air, will obviously write and executive produce the special. The series just recently concluded their 23rd season, in which they hit their 300th episode mark, yet The Simpsons still prevails as the longest-running animates series in history.

South Park joins the list of a number of other TV series who plan to incorporate the COVID-19 pandemic into their storylines, including Shameless, grown-ish, and You, according to TV InsiderComedy Central teased their upcoming special with a trailer that can be viewed below:
