‘Snowfall’: FX Releases Full Season Four Trailer Of 1980s-L.A. Drama Series

A month from the series return, FX has released the full trailer for the fourth season of Snowfall. The period drama set in 1980s Los Angeles examines the decades’ crack cocaine epidemic through the eyes of an aspiring drug dealer, and a dedicated CIA agent. Check out the trailer below.

Season three ended with Damson Idris’ (Outside the Wire, Black Mirror) Franklin Saint being shot by an unsuspecting assailant. After months of rehabilitation, the cane-bound Franklin returned to the job earlier than expected. Meanwhile, government agent Teddy McDonald, played by Carter Hudson (Bear & Stella, The Therapist), suffered a crushing betrayal from a loved one. Determined to continue on his mission, he is delivered new hope from his associate Gustavo, portrayed by Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood, Love Ranch).

Set to the soundtrack by the sounds of the hip-hop group Public Enemy, the two-minute clip opens with Franklin declaring the expansion of the family business. He has set his eyes on operating beyond the streets of L.A. But as business booms, more players want in on the drug trade. More hands vying for control leads to an increase in violence on the streets, erupting in a full-fledged gang war.

As Franklin and associates grow, his partnership with supplier Teddy becomes more strained. Franklin realizes his fate is integrally linked to the success of Teddy’s war in Nicaragua. They both must operate cautiously as the LAPD seeks to bring Franklin and his entire operation down.

In addition to Idris and Hudson, the cast includes Isaiah John (All Day and A Night, When The Streetlights Go On) as Leon Simmons; Amin Joseph (Tales, Stuber) as Jerome Saint; Angela Lewis (Code Black, The Last Ship) as Aunt Louie; Michael Hyatt (Nightcrawler, Fame) as Cissy Saint; Kevin Carroll (Blindspotting, Being John Malkovich) as Alton Saint; and, Reign Edwards (MacGyver, Hell Fest) as Melody Wright.

Snowfall was created and written by late film director, John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood, Higher Learning). It was co-created by Dave Andron (Justified, Past Life) and Eric Amadio (Stuntmen, After Sex) with writing from Scott Wilson (Fargo, Black Monday). The fourth season’s two-episode premiere airs Tues., February 24 at 9 p.m. ET on FX. It is available to stream the next day on FX on Hulu.
