‘SNL’ Alum Molly Shannon To Join The Cast Of ‘Only Murders In The Building’

The fourth season of Only Murders In The Building is coming in hot. As the new season approaches, more announcements regarding casting, plot, and production are beginning to surface. The latest announcement comes from Deadline, where it has been revealed that Molly Shannon has joined the official cast as a recurring character.

The producers for the latest season of Only Murders are keeping the details regarding the storyline a secret so as to not spoil any of the surprises that come with the ‘whodunnit’ plotlines the series upholds. That being said, a Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich was speaking with Deadline and revealed sneak peek in the interview. He stated that the titular trio Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, played by Steve Martin (Cheaper By The Dozen), Martin Short (Father Of The Bride), and Selena Gomez (Wizards Of Waverly Place), are going to start the new season not in New York, but in a brief trip to Los Angeles before coming back to The Arconia in their pursuit of the killer.

With this new information, there has been speculation as to what exactly Shannon will be playing. According to Deadline, it is predicted that she will be playing a “high-powered LA businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in NY.”

Shannon is a former repertory company member on Saturday Night Live for six seasons from 1995-2001. She contributed with some very iconic and memorable characters such as the enthusiastic dancer Sally O’Malley and the schoolgirl character Mary Katherine Gallagher. She also has most recently starred in Zach Braff’s A Good Person. She starred in that alongside Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption) and Florence Pugh (Little Women, Dune 2).

There is no set date as to when season four of Only Murders In The Building is going to be released. You can watch the first three seasons on Hulu.
