Shawn Levy Claims That ‘Stranger Things’ Final Season Will Be ”Epic and Very Emotional’’

Executive producer Shawn Levy (Shadow and Bone, Unsolved Mysteries) claims that the highly anticipated fifth and final season of the Netflix series Stranger Things will be, ‘’epic and very emotional’’, according to ComicBook. The final season of the series, which is scheduled to start production next year and have a possible 2024 release will be closing up one of Netflix’s biggest running series in the last six years. The science-fiction horror drama’s creators Matt (Hidden, Wayward Pines) and Ross(Eater, Vessel) Duffer have a big challenge as they have to compete with how well season four performed on its two-part release as one set of episodes was released, on May 27, 2022, and the second July 1, 2022.

ComicBook claims that in an interview with Collider Levy says, ”I know that the Duffer brothers already hinted at this publicly, but when we sat there and heard the two-hour-long pitch out for the storyline of this final season, I don’t think there was dry eye in the room by the time the brothers were done.” Levy also goes on to say to Collider. “So yeah, this last season will be both epic and very emotional. I think making it will be pretty damn emotional too since this show has changed the life of every one of us who have worked on it. Anyway, writing is going really well, and we can’t wait to head into production next year.”

Set in the 1980s, the Netflix original series Stranger Things started its journey back in 2016. The series follows the many inhabitants of Hawkins, a small town in Indiana, whose lives change after the sudden disappearance of a young boy leads to secrets being uncovered, supernatural sinister creatures, children with telekinetic powers, and portals to another world.

The series stars Millie Bobby Brown (Enola Holmes, Godzilla vs. Kong), Finn Wolfhard (It, Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Winona Ryder (Little Women, Mermaids ), David Harbour (Hellboy, Black Widow), Gaten Matarazzo (My Father’s Dragon, Honor Society ), Caleb Mclaughlin (High Flying Bird, Concrete Cowboy), Natalia Dyer(Yes, God, Yes, Tuscaloosa), Charlie Heaton(The New Mutants, Shut In), Joe Keery (Slice, Free Guy), Noah Schnapp (Abe, Hubie Halloween), Sadie Sink (Ali, The Whale), and many more.
