‘Sense8’ Gets A Second Season

The Netflix original series is getting another season.

The sci-fi series from the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski received mixed reviews when it premiered earlier this year. The cast took to Twitter to announce that the series had been given another season. The tweet was accompanied with a video announcement.

Straczynski had discussed his hopes for a second season during the TCA press tour. “The way that the Wachowskis and I tend to work — we created the show together and we are running the show together — we are long-thinking people,” Straczynski said according to Variety. “We look down the road and we say to ourselves, ‘Where is this going to go?’ … Season one is like an origin story and season two has some particular arc, and we figure it out from there. But to spoil that here would not be the best interest of the surprise at the end.”

The large cast includes Freema Agyeman, Aml Ameen, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Daryl Hannah, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Brian J. Smith. The show follows strangers who become connected without knowing how or why. Season one of Sense8 is available to stream on Netflix now.
