Season Two of ‘Julia’ Release Date Posted

The Max original series Julia now has an official release date for season two. The date was provided by the official site. The first three episodes will debut on Thursday, November 16th.

The official trailer for the show was also released. Max aired the synopsis for season two, claiming, “With her trailblazing cooking show up and running on the air, Julia grapples with her rising celebrity and what that means for her, her colleagues and her show. In season two, Julia and her devoted husband Paul return from Simca’s home in France to find that her success has changed everything. Through her singular joie de vivre, she and her team must navigate WGBH, the White House and a threat from their past, while continuing to spearhead female-driven public television and confront social issues still prevalent today.”

Julia has a returning cast of Sarah Lancashire (Chuck), David Hyde Pierce (The Perfect Host), Bebe Neuwirth (Browsers), Brittany Bradford (The Watcher), Fran Kranz (Fanboy), Fiona Glascott (Fantastic Beasts), and Robert Joy (Down To The Dirt).

According to People, Julia is a biographical show about Julia Child. The show is a comedy that recounts her life in a light-hearted format. The magazine also sighted the end of season one in which Julia Child chooses to travel to France in order to clear her head and continue her show. The season will also delve into the lives of other characters and what they struggle with.

People also puts detail into how the show faces issues such as sexism, misogyny, and women’s rights, highlighting that “Alice (Brittany Bradford) is pressured to come up with more compelling programming for the station and Julia’s book editor Judith (Fiona Glascott) experiences frustration navigating the male-dominated publishing industry of the 1960s.”

Julia’s season two will begin premiering with three episodes on November 16th, with the next eight episodes coming every two weeks after that.
