Season Three Teaser Of Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ Shows Penelope’s New Love Interest

Netflix’s Bridgerton has released a new teaser in which Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls, Big Mood, Harlots), has a new suitor, Comicbook.com reports. The new clip features short scene of Penelope bowing to Lord Debling with a smirk, symbolizing there will be a love interest triangle in the works with Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton (The Lodge, Lake Placid: Legacy, The Cut), as he will help her find a suitor. Is this just friendship or love? The official account of the show has written the following statement on the post, “Will this wallflower’s moment in the sunshine be enough to let her bloom? One can certainly hope.” You can check out the teaser here.

According to Comicbook.com, a most-talked-about topic among fans of Polin is how their dynamic will evolve in the course of this upcoming season and how they will be able to showcase the scenes from the book. With the new presence of Lord Debling, played by Sam Philips (The Crown, To Olivia, The Syndicate), Colin seems to be suspicious of the growing affection with Penelope. It seems like he will need to come to his senses to be with Penelope. Nonetheless, fans are excited for the third season to be released.

Recently, according to Comicbook.com, Coughlan shared that she added new important statement in her contract for the show. The Derry Girls alum spoke to SiriusXM Hits 1 about letting her parents receive a PG version of the show. Coughlan stated that she grew up in an Irish Catholic family, so her parents don’t agree with seeing her steamier scenes in the third season of Bridgerton.

“It’s literally written into my contract,” Coughlan explained, via Comicbook.com. “People think I’m like saying it as a joke. I just don’t want to. I grew up Irish Catholic. That’s just not how we vibe.”

“When [my mom] first saw Bridgerton, she didn’t know it was gonna be so saucy,” Coughlan continued, via Comicbook.com. “And then you get bottom, Jonathan Bailey‘s (Fellow Travelers, Wicked, Crashing) lovely bottom, about two minutes into the first episode ever. And she was like, ‘What is this?’ But then, now she thinks it’s fantastic and really funny, and she keeps talking about bottoms.”

According to Comicbook.com, in the same interview, Coughlan later explained some of the romantic scenes that she portrayed with Newton. She also revealed that the two actors were able to give input to make each scene even greater….but broke some furniture in the process.

“We did break a piece of furniture while doing one of those scenes,” Coughlan shared, via Comicbook.com. “I didn’t know what it was gonna be like, but it’s a little bit like a stunt in which they’re like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna do this, this, and this. But then they gave us freedom to like, we had a lot of say in how we did those scenes and what we wanted to do. And that makes you feel quite empowered and you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re gonna do this, this, and this.’ So we felt super. They were actually really enjoyable. I didn’t think they would be. They were great. It was fun.”

Bridgerton‘s first part of season three will be available on May 16, and the second part will be released on June 13.
