Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Virgin River’ Adds Sarah Dugdale

The romance drama Virgin River’s upcoming second season will add actress Sarah Dugdale (Arrow, In the Shadow of the Moon) to its main cast, according to Deadline. The Netflix program debuted its first season, consisting of ten episodes, in late 2019 and its second season will also be composed of ten forty-minute episodes. Based on Robyn Carr’s (Blue Falcon) novels under the same name, the series was adapted for television by Sue Tenney (7th Heaven) and is executive produced by Carr, Tenney, Christoper E. Perry (Eyewitness), Roma Roth (The Curse of the Komodo), and Jocelyn Freid (The Quad). The streaming show follows the main character Melinda finding work in the small California town Virgin River in order to get a new start in life although her past still weighs heavy on her.

Dugdale’s addition to the show comes also with the announcement of her character Lizzie, who will be a part of the main cast opposite Melinda. The character Lizzie has been sent to live in Virgin River by her parents after a shoplifting incident. The series’ cast includes Alexandra Breckenridge (American Horror Story) as the main character Melinda in addition to Martin Henderson (The Ring) as Jack Sheridan, Jenny Cooper (Grey’s Anatomy) as Joey Barnes, Colin Lawrence (Riverdale) as John Middleton, Annette O’Toole (Superman III) as Hope McCrea, and Grayson Gurnsey (The Art of Racing in the Rain) as Ricky, who will be promoted to the main cast for the ensuing second season.

Currently, Virgin River’s second season does not have a set premiere date. For interested television fans, the first season is available in its entirety on Netflix. Check out the first season trailer below:
