‘Saturday Night Live’ Selects Hosts For March Shows; Sydney Sweeney and Josh Brolin Set To Host

Saturday Night Live has kickstarted the March show lineups with some killer hosts and musical guests. Deadline announced on Tuesday, February 20 that Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Anyone But You) will make her SNL hosting debut on March 2 alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves, and Josh Brolin (The Goonies, Sicario) is set to return to studio 8H with musical guest Ariana Grande. With the mix of talents, the two episodes were met with plenty of excitement and anticipation.

Sweeney, a first-time host of the sketch comedy show, is currently starring in the smash hit romance Anyone But You alongside Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick). The rom-com has been met with stellar box office numbers and plenty of audience praise. On the other hand, she also is currently on the silver screen in the film Madam Web, which has not been met with the same ratings. With a box office flop and many poor reviews online, Madame Web was not the hit that audiences were looking for.

Sweeney will be accompanied by Musgraves as she is returning for her third appearance on SNL. Her new album comes out on March 15.

Following Sweeney and Musgraves, Brolin will be returning to SNL for the third time after hosting in both 2008 and 2012. He is currently promoting his newest film Dune: Part Two, which is set to premiere in theaters on March 1.

Brolin will be partnering with Grande as she stars as the musical guest for the third time in 2014 and 2016. In 2016 Grande played double duty with both hosting and musical guest starring in that episode.

Before Sweeny and Brolin, it was previously announced that comedian Shane Gillis (Gilly and Keeves) would host on February 24. Gillis, who is known for his standup comedy and impressions, was supposed to be a cast member on SNL. Just five days after getting the coveted cast member position, he was fired after some controversial jokes and statements that began to resurface. It was announced that he will be hosting with 21 Savage as musical guest. The news was met with mixed reviews as SNL fans are eager to see what the episode will bring.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC and streams on Peacock at 11:30 PM EST.
