‘Saturday Night Live’ Announces Final Hosts of 2023

Saturday Night Live is gearing up to end 2023 with some fantastic new episodes. Along with Emma Stone (La La Land, The Curse) hosting the upcoming episode this Saturday, December 2nd, SNL has taken to social media to announce the rest of the year’s hosts. Let’s just say, they are finishing the year strong.

On Wednesday, November 29, SNL posted, along with some promo for the new episode with Stone, that the final hosts and musical guest of the year are ready to go. The lineup includes Adam Driver (Marriage Story, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), who will be hosting on December 9th with musical guest Olivia Rodrigo, and the beloved ex-SNL cast member Kate McKinnon (Barbie, Ghostbusters) doing hosting duty on December 16th with musical guest, Billie Eilish.

This will be Driver’s fourth time hosting SNL. He previously hosted in 2016, 2018, and 2020 when promoting his work. He starred in sketches that have soared in popularity such as the Kylo Ren “Undercover Boss” sketch and “Career Day” sketch where he plays the odd old man Abraham H. Parnassus. His comedic timing and top-notch acting skills have made him a hosting favorite among viewers.

On the other hand, McKinnon is hosting for the very first time. She departed SNL in May of 2022, and since then has done other entertainment projects such as starring as the loveable Weird Barbie in the latest Barbie movie. McKinnon was a cast member on SNL for 11 seasons before she left. She starred in some pretty famous sketches such as “A Strange Encounter” and as the quirky scientist on “Weekend Update”, Dr. Wenowdis. Fans were beyond excited to see that she was going to be back in studio 8H, as her episode will close out the 2023 season.

As for the musical guests, Rodrigo is making her second appearance on SNL since 2021 when she was promoting her first album Sour. Now, with her latest album Guts, she’s returning to SNL to show off her latest songs. Eilish on the other hand will make her third appearance having been on the show in 2019 and in 2021 where she did double duty as both musical guest and host.

Watch Saturday Night Live this Saturday, December 2nd on NBC at 11:30 pm EST.
