Sara Haines To Be New ‘View’ Co-Host, Guest Hosts Announced

For avid viewers of daytime pop-culture talk show The View, these last few years have shaken up the main cast more than anyone expected, but maybe at last fans can have some peace.

Sara Haines will be the newest co-host for The View, taking a seat at the table with original members Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, as well as Raven-Symone, Candace Cameron Bure, and Paula Faris, Deadline reports. She will start with everyone else for the beginning of season twenty, which will slide in (hopefully still) smoothly this autumn.

There might be many who already recognize Haines’s name; after all, she was the lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America. During her time on ABC’s number-one morning show, Haines would discuss anything from people to food, not unlike the typical conversational diets of The View over the years.

Haines’s illustrative talk-show history continues; in 2002, the young journalist from Newton, Iowa joined up with the Today Show on NBC as a Production Coordinator. From there, her career sprung into the role as a correspondent for TODAY until 2013, when she left one network to another, which was ABC. As well as working as lifestyle anchor for GMA on the weekends, Haines also took on the job as a correspondent for ABC News.

The new co-host steps into season littered with barbs from the last (though this transition has certainly been easier than some of the past). Her presence replaces comedian Michelle Collins, who was fired from The View following its nineteenth season, which was the only one she served on. Haines, atop her decorated resume, also carries a degree in Government under her belt; it’s therefore unlikely she might make similar mistakes that the last co-host made.

Along with Haines and the roundtable pre-existing, two guest hosts will be stopping in from time to time. They are Jedidilah Bila and Sunny Hostin, a Fox News contributer/columnist and a lawyer/correspondent for ABC News respectively. With their additions of very different political backgrounds, and with the election coming to a bitter end later this fall, it’s likely View fans will be getting a fair amount of spice this autumn, and it won’t just be from their Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Season twenty of The View will commence on September 6th. Prior to that, on August 23rd, there will be a special honoring original co-host Barbara Walters, during which professionals closest to her will talk about their favorite moments with her.
