Sandra Oh Cast in Season 3 of ‘American Crime’

Sandra Oh (Grey’s AnatomySideways) is returning to television with a guest role on ABC’s  American Crime. The Hollywood Reporter had the story.

American Crime, created by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave), is a crime anthology series. Each season focuses on a different crime, and is set in a different city in the United States. The show’s cast, which includes Felicity Huffman (FrasierDesperate Housewives) and Timothy Hutton (LeverageThe Ghost Writer), returns each season to play different characters.

The third season of American Crime is set in Alamance County, North Carolina. and will allegedly explore “labor issues and economic divides in addition to individual rights”. Oh is set to play recurring character Abby Tanaka, a social worker who runs a shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

Abby Tanaka will be Oh’s first television role since being written out of Grey’s Anatomy in 2014. Oh played Dr. Cristina Yang for ten years, and won both a Golden Globe and two Screen Actors Guild awards for her performance.

American Crime will return to ABC sometime in 2017.
