Samsung TV Plus Launches LGBTQ+ Streaming Network Revry

The niche LGBTQ+ streaming network, Revry, has launched on Samsung TV Plus and the Roku Channel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Varying from other streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, Revry offers queer themed originals.

Along with TV series, the streaming service offers original LGBTQ+ themed movies, music, podcasts and news. The Category, a Spanish-language docuseries detailing the underground ballroom scene in Mexico City, the comedy Sink Sank Sunk starring Laura Linney (Ozark, The Truman Show), and the reality TV series Putting On are few of the many features that Revry contains.

CEO and co-founder of Revry, Damian Pelliccione, is elated about the expansion and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community and what Revry will bring to the table. He said in statement on The Hollywood Reporter “given Samsung’s massive reach, we now have the opportunity to touch a broader LGBTQ+ and allied audience through Samsung Smart TV’s.”

Though the media has given more space for the LGBTQ+ on the screen, Pelliccione added “we believe representation saves lives, so partnering with Samsung helps us bring out ‘radically inclusive’ entertainment to an even bigger audience, and gives us the chance to change hearts and minds, both inside and outside of the LGBTQ+ community.”

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that conditions of the deal with Samsung TV Plus were not disclosed, but the distribution agreement permits the Revry channel to reach the millions of Samsung Smart TV owners.

Revry can be found on Samsung TV Plus Channel 1226, Comcast Xfinity X1, XUMO TV, Zapping TV, STIRR (Sinclair Broadcast Group) and TiVo+. It is also available on a subscription basis for $4.99 or $6.99 for a premium subscription.
