Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert All In for ‘Roseanne’ Revival

The all-American slapstick comedy of the 90’s, Roseanne, is being revived Deadline reports, with several original cast members in talks to join, with three already signed on for the TBA project including Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert.

The project is currently being shopped by streaming services like the Will & Grace revival series initially tested before being picked up by NBC, as well broadcast networks like the show’s former home, ABC.

Roseanne starred Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki and more as the blue collar Conner family, who struggled to get by in the fictional town of Lanford, IL, entertaining millions with their humor and wit.

On a recent appearance on CBS’ The Talk, John Goodman weighs in on the potential for a revival, saying “Oh, hell yes.” Goodman told host Julie Chen. “The big ‘R’ (Roseanne Barr) and I did a pilot about five years ago that didn’t go anywhere…but we were very happy to work together,” he adds, “…but if we could get everyone together…” Deadline reported.

Last March, Roseanne co-stars John Goodman and Sara Gilbert reunited in spoof while on CBS’ The Talk, reprising their roles as Dan and Darlene Conner, where Darlene reveals a secret to her father.

The new installment based on the original series will be executive produced by many of the original team, Barr, Tom Werner and Bruce Helford tacking on Gilbert and Whitney Cummings, with Cummings and Helford co-running.

mxdwn TV previously reported on several shows revivals as of late, including Fox’s 24: Legacy, and Prison Break, Netflix’s The Gilmore Girls and Fuller House, NBC’s Will & Grace, and Showtime picking up reboot of Twin Peaks.
