NBC is currently working with comedienne Roseanne Barr on a possible 10/90 sitcom series deal.
The 10/90 model was originally established by Tyler Perry’s TBS sitcoms. The deal ensures an initial 10-episode series, which is automatically given an additional 90 episodes, only if picked up by the network, according to IGN.
The co-creator and co-showrunner of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie Linda Wallem will be involved with the family comedy in which Barr may star, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
Another television show to use this model has worked for actor Charlie Sheen, with FX’s Anger Management. George Lopez, Kelsey Grammar and Martin Lawrence have all reportedly made deals with FX for 10/90 series as well, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
This will be the first attempt made by NBC and Universal TV at the 10/90 model.
