Ricky Gervais, Wanda Sykes, and Steve Urkel Among Guest Stars for ‘Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?’

Scooby-Doo is one of the most recognizable franchises ever with countless fans of the meddling kids and their iconic dog. On June 27th, 2019, the list of Scooby-Doo projects will grow when Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? premieres on Boomerang. Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? will be the thirteenth animated series in the franchise. Scooby-Doo, Where are You!, the original series, aired from 1969-1976 and was created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. The shows always follow a group of kids/teenagers (usually Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Velma) and the dog, Scooby-Doo, as they solve mysteries.

As the show’s title suggests, Scooby-Doo and his gang will be working with some friends to solve their newest cases. Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? will have a series of guest stars appear in each episode of the series, some real and some fictional. Stars involved in the project are Ricky Gervias, Mark Hamil, Kenan Thompson, Jim Gaffigan, Wanda Sykes, Whoopi Goldberg, Penn & Teller, “Weird Al” Yankovic,  scientists Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson, and singers Sia and Halsey. Among the fictional characters are Wonder Woman, Sherlock Holmes, and Steve Urkel.

You can catch a glimpse of the stars in a new trailer below.

Jaleel White hadn’t played the notorious Family Matters character, Steve Urkel, for about twenty years, but he brought the character back for an upcoming episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?. White posted on Instagram that getting back into the character for the voice over was easy. White showed a lot of enthusiasm for the project, both in reprising his most iconic role and to share the screen with Mystery Incorporated (another name for the Scooby gang).

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? will be available on Boomerang on June 27th. The Boomerang streaming service is available online with a desktop, most Android devices, iOS devices (versions 10 and up), Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon FireTV or Fire Stick. Members of Amazon Prime will be able to access it as an Amazon Channel. It is expected that Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? will also air on Cartoon Network, but it is unclear when that will happen.
