

S.W.A.T. Exiles, the forthcoming spinoff series for CBS’ S.W.A.T., finally has its full cast ready. Deadline reports that today, Sony unveiled the regulars of the series before the beginning of production, which is set to begin later this month in Los Angeles.
Deadline writes that along with Lucy Barrett (Deep Water, Charmed), Adain Bradley (Warfare, Tarot), Zyra Gorecki (La Brea, Chicago Fire), Freddy Miyares (When They See Us, The L Word: Generation Q), and Ronen Rubinstein (911: Lone Star, Orange Is the New Black) will join the series. Reprising their roles from the original S.W.A.T. series are Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds, The Young and the Restless), Jay Harrington (Better Off Ted, Suits), and Patrick St. Esprit (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Sons of Anarchy), who were already announced some time ago.
According to Deadline, Kevin Tancharoen is set to direct the first episode of the spinoff series. His recent work includes directing and executive producing Netflix’s The Brothers Sun and Peacock’s Teacup. He has previously worked on The Book of Boba Fett, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, and Fame.
Jason Ning (Perception, Lucifer) will serve as showrunner and executive producer, Deadline writes. Also executive producing are Neal H. Moritz (Fast & Furious, F9) and Pavun Shetty (Goosebumps, The Boys) of Original Film, along with Moore, James Scura (Leverage, Legit), and Jon Cowan (Suits, Crossing Jordan). Sony Pictures Television produces and distributes the series internationally.

“After a high-profile mission goes sideways, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (played by Moore) is pulled out of forced retirement to lead a last-chance experimental S.W.A.T. unit made up of untested, unpredictable young recruits. Hondo must bridge a generational divide, navigate clashing personalities, and turn a squad of outsiders into a team capable of protecting the city and saving the program that made him who he is.”
