According to Deadline, Renée Elise Goldsberry (A House of Dynamite, Altered Carbon) will be joining the cast of CBS‘ legal drama Cupertino. The series comes from creators Robert (Judy’s Got a Gun, Vertical Limit) and Michelle King (The Good Fight, The Good Wife).
As per Deadline, the series is a legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley and follows Michael, a lawyer who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech start-up. Refusing to back down from what is his, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney to help represent those who have been wronged and taken advantage of by the tech elite. They try to help by fighting back against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley in high-stakes games. In a series regular role, Goldsberry will play Renee, a brilliant opposing attorney who has a professional and romantic history with Michael.
According to Deadline, this new series will reunite Goldsberry with Robert and Michelle King, who created the CBS series The Good Wife, where she played the character of Geneva Pine. Cupertino was picked up to series to air during the 2026-2027 season. Goldsberry joins previously announced cast member Ella Stiller (Escape at Dannermora, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb) in the role of Christy, young assistant at the new start-up law firm in Cupertino that’s at the heart of the story. She is also joining Mike Colter (Luke Cage, Men in Black) who worked alongside her in the series Evil.
As per Deadline, Robert and Michelle King will serve as writers and executive producers on the series under their banner King Size Productions, with Robert King set to direct the premiere episode.
According to Deadline, Goldsberry’s credits also include Hamilton, Rent, The Color Purple and The Lion King. She recently aired her first album titled Who I Really Am, featuring original new music.
