‘Red Vs. Blue: Restoration’ Set To Return This May

According to a press release, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment released not just the digital date but also the teaser for the final season of the web series Red vs. Blue: Restoration. The current release date is May 7th of 2024. Watch the teaser here

This will be the 19th season of the show. However, unlike previous seasons, this one will be shown in its entirety as a full-length film. It is returning after a four year hiatus. This news comes from the press release.

Matt Hallum and Burnie Burns will be returning as director and co-created respectively, said the press release. Burns Said, “over two decades. I’m thrilled to return for Red vs. Blue: Restoration, and to conclude this incredible twenty-one year journey with our longtime fans.”

Hallam continued the sentiment, the press release claimed, saying, “Red vs. Blue has been a cornerstone of Rooster Teeth’s legacy, and we’re immensely proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

Rooster Teeth is the production company that created Red vs. Blue: Restoration, the press release stated. It began as a small company that was founded in 2003 but has now become a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The press release gave a synopsis for the show, saying “Red vs. Blue is a comedy web series set in the universe of the iconic Xbox video game franchise, Halo, where two teams, Red and Blue, engage in a perpetual conflict in a desolate canyon. Led by the bumbling Sarge and the cynical Church, the soldiers navigate absurd situations and misunderstandings with a mix of humor and sci-fi elements.”

The press release elaborated on the log line for this specific season, with it being about how “when the universe’s greatest villain returns in a terrifying new form, old adversaries, the Reds and Blues of Blood Gulch, will have to set aside their differences to save the galaxy one last time.”
