Last night, September 20, the twelfth season of American Horror Story: Delicate premiered on FX. What left fans of the show with sense of pleasant shock was the acting debut of reality star, businesswoman, and billionaire, Kim Kardashian (Keeping Up With The Kardashians). In American Horror Story: Delicate, Anna, played by Emma Roberts (We’re the Millers), is an on the rise movie star with infertility issues after many failed attempts at IVF. After being convinced to give IVF another try, Anna believes someone is threatening her chances of motherhood. Kardashian plays Siobhan, Anna’s friend and publicist. Via CNN Entertainment, “After witches, freak shows and haunted houses, American Horror Story gets down to basics by finding horror in a more conventional environment with a protagonist at a vulnerable moment…” Initial thoughts on Kardashian’s casting were met with skepticism and low expectations. After the airing of the new season, fans were quick to take to social media to share their feelings of delight and praise towards her acting skills.
The twelfth season of the show is based on the book Delicate Condition, written by Danielle Valentine, which is being called the new generation Rosemary’s Baby. American Horror Story was created by Brad Falchuck (Glee) and Ryan Murphy (The Watcher), who are no strangers to involving famous guest stars in the show, from model Naomi Campbell (The Face), singer Adam Levine (The Voice), singer Stevie Nicks (Practical Magic), and joining the cast for season twelve, model Cara Delevingne (Carnival Row) who will play Ivy.
Episodes from season twelve will air on FX every Wednesday, with streaming available on Hulu the next day.
