On Thursday, Priyanka Chopra, the star of ABC’s FBI-turned-CIA drama Quantico, suffered a concussion during a stunt on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A spokesperson for ABC confirmed that Chopra was injured and a representative for Chopra said she was taken to the hospital, was examined by a doctor and was released from the hospital.
Despite Chopra’s concussion, shooting isn’t expected to be delayed on the show, which is currently in its second season.
Chopra has gone on the record before about performing her own stunts, saying “I do all of the stunts myself. The action sequences really, really push me this time. I’m fighting numerous people together and it’s extremely challenging and so much fun to shoot.”
She took to Twitter on Sunday to give her fans an update on how she’s doing, while also saying she hopes she can get back to the show soon.
As for Quantico itself, the show is undergoing some major changes when it comes back next Monday on a new day to try and revive its ratings. TVLine reported that the show will be abandoning the two timelines that the show is known for operating in and will instead focus only on one timeline.
Showrunner Joshua Safran said the one timeline story was a long time coming, saying “When we broke Season 2, we knew we were going to go to to one timeline, because it’s about the (terrorist) event, and then it’s about what happens after the event. And you can’t flashback to the Farm after the crisis is over.”
He also said that viewers who watched the show in its first season wanted the show to focus on one storyline instead of two different timelines and multiple plot twists.
“It was the idea that 22 (episodes) couldn’t sustain it,” Safran said.
He continued by saying “It’s clearer to follow. It’s more romantic. It’s not soapy; weirdly, it’s got a level of ‘us against the world’ to it. That kind of romance. It feels like more of a feature (film).”
Quantico returns to ABC on Monday, Jan. 23 at 10 p.m.
