Prince Royce Joining ‘East Los High’ Cast for Upcoming Season

A while back, Hulu announced that one of its most successful original series East Los High would be renewed for a fourth season. This made the hit teen drama, the first original series on Hulu to accomplish this.

East Los High, Hulu’s original series is a popular teen drama and the only series (so far) on the streaming service to have been renewed for a fourth season. Now, according to Variety, multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Prince Royce will be joining the cast for East Los High for the upcoming season.

Prince Royce’s career took off several years ago for his bilingual rendition of “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King and has since sold millions of albums worldwide and is expected to follow Shakira and Enrique Iglesias in terms of successfully crossing over from Spanish to English albums.

In the series, Prince Royce will have a recurring role as Vincent a successful coach of the Jefferson Park Dance crew which is Bomb Squad’s ultimate rival team. Vincent will try to seduce the team’s head coach Ceci (Danielle Vega). In addition to Jane the Virgin and Telenovela, East Los High is one of the few English-language series featuring a predominantly Latino cast as well as gender-inclusive and diverse writers/producers. East Los High is also the first to show the lives of young Latino teenagers coming of age in the United States.

Some of the topics covered in the series includes same-sex couples, safe sex, abusive relationships, and undocumented families. East Los High stars Vannessa Vasquez, Alicia Sixtos, Gabriel Chavarria, Rene Alvarado, Tracy Perez, and Ashley Campuzano. The creators for the series are Carlos Portugal and Kathleen Bedoya who serve as executive producers with Katie Elmore Mota and Mauricio Mota.

Currently, the fourth season of East Los High is in production and will debut on Hulu this summer.
