Premiere Date Set for Limited Series ‘Fosse/Verdon’ on FX

FX president Chuck Saftler has announced the premiere date for limited series Fosse/Verdon. The eight-episode series is set to air Tuesday, April 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.  Created by a team of award-winning producers, the series is based on a biography called Fosse, written by Sam Wasson.

The story revolves around the romantic and creative relationship between filmmaker and choreographer Bob Fosse and famed Broadway dancer Gwen Verdon. The duo altered the American entertainment industry, going to all lengths to pursue greatness. The show features choreography by Fosse, while also detailing the ins and outs of show business, including the dark side.

Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams and Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell play the lead roles in the series, which is currently in production in New York City. The rest of the stellar cast includes Norbert Leo Butz and Margaret Qualley, as well as Aya Cash, Nate Corddry, Susan Misner, Bianca Marroquin, Kelli Barrett, Evan Handler, Rick Holmes, Paul Reiser, Ethan Slater and Byron Jennings. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, and directed by Thomas Kail.

Nicole Fosse, daughter of Fosse and Verdon, will serve as Co-Executive Producer. An actress, dancer and producer herself, Nicole also is caretaker of The Verdon Fosse Legacy. The scenes will be choreographed by co-Producer Andy Blankenbuehler and Susan Misner.  The Supervising Music Producer on the series will be Alex Lacamoire, an acclaimed composer and arranger, with Erica Kay as Producer. Some of the executive producers of this limited series include award-winning producers Thomas Kail, Steven Levenson, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Joel Field.

FX Networks has several critically-acclaimed and award-winning series such as Taboo and Legion, as well as limited series like  American Horror Story, Fargo, and American Crime Story.
