‘Pokemon Generations,’ New Revamped Animated Series to Debut on YouTube

Pokemon has been around for 20 years and over 100 million people have downloaded Pokemon Go, a popular mobile game app from Niantic that allows people to catch first generation Pokemon in the real world According to Collider, multiple longtime fans and newcomers have felt that all the Pokemon series differ too much from the video games themselves. And as a result, The Pokemon Company has created a new animated web series that is more closely related to all the video games. The series is titled Pokemon Generations.

A new trailer was released by The Pokemon Company that gives fans a first look of the upcoming series. Watch the trailer below:

The animated series will be comprised of three-to-five minute installments that will delve into each of the franchise’s video games. All these new adventures will incorporate things from game events and characters, and use them to launch brand new stories from across the Pokemon universe. This new addition to Pokemon seeks to engage fans especially as new games are being released.

You can watch Pokemon Generations on YouTube beginning Friday, September 16th. After that, the show will air each week and run all the way through the fall to late December.

The new animated series will revisit each generation of the Pokemon video game series and show a different side to some of the timeless moments fans have experienced. This includes the early days in the Kanto region, to the beauty of the Kalos region. Viewers will be taken behind the scenes and witness the history of Pokemon from the perspective of new characters.
