The time to shoot pilots for potential series has begun and a lot of casting moves have happened these last few days, as reported by TVLine.
The CW:
Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill, 666 Park Avenue) has joined iZombie, a show about a medical student who was turned into a zombie and now takes advantage of her part-time job at the coroner’s office to be able to saciate her hunger.
Buckley will be Major, a former college football star who is now an environmental engineer trying to remain friends wth his ex-girlfriend Liv. Other recent additions to iZombie‘s cast were Malcolm Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and David Anders.
Also joining a CW show is Patrick Sabongui (Godzilla), who will play Central City PD Captain David Singh in Arrow‘s spin-off, The Flash. Although he has been cast for a guest-star role, it could become recurring.
ABC:
Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives) has been cast in American Crime, a show about a “racially charged murder and the high-profile trial that follows.” Huffman will be Barb Skokie, the mother of the victim, whose ex-husband, Russ (Timothy Hutton) is addicted to gambling.
Josh Sussman (Glee) joined The Winklers, a prospective series based in the real events of Henry Winkler’s relationship with his son-in-law. Sussman will be Winkler’s son, Jonah.
Paul F. Tompkins (Comedy Bang! Bang!, Bob’s Burgers) also joined an ABC show, still untitled, about a family that moves to New Hampshire to open a chain of tourist chalets. Tompkins will be the overworked family’s patriarch.
FOX/FX:
Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters, 666 Park Avenue) landed a role in FOX’s Red Band Society, a drama who follows a bunch of teenagers from different upbringings who forge friendships while living together in a hospital. Annable will portray Dr. William McAndrew, a pediatric onchologist and surgeon.
John Corbett (Parenthood, United States of Tara) joined FX’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, playing Flash, who is half of the duo Johnny Rock (Dennis Leary) & Flash. They were huge rock-stars in the 90s and reunite 25 years later to try and piece their band back together.
NBC:
Joshua Gomez (Chuck, The Crazy Ones) has landed a role in Ellen More Or Less, a comedy about a woman (Stacey McGunnigle) who decides to complete change herself after losing 100 pounds. Gomez will be her gullible co-worker, Craig.
Finally, Angelique Cabral (Enlisted, All My Children) will star on Two To Go, another comedy plot about two perfectly normal best friends, whose common friends keep trying to match with each other. Cabral will be a married Pilates instructor, and she was cast in second position, in case Enlisted gets renewed and she can’t play this new part.
